Health care without conscience is a dangerous contradiction

After reading this CBC news article, "Health care without conscience is a dangerous contradiction", I remembered this Archdiocese of Kingston letter and its link for "THE COALITION FOR HEALTHCARE AND CONSCIENCE".

I thought that the article and the following are also complimentary on this topic.

"The Cizik School of Nursing at the University of Texas has created a REMI Platinum Award-winning 56.07 min documentary film that tells the grim cautionary tale of nurses who participated in the Holocaust and abandoned their professional ethics during the Nazi era. The 56-minute film, Caring Corrupted: the Killing Nurses of the Third Reich, casts a harsh light on nurses who used their professional skills to murder the handicapped, mentally ill and infirm at the behest of the Third Reich and directly participated in genocide."

The short documentary, Caring Corrupted, can be viewed on YouTube.

Caring Corrupted

Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it.

In a 1948 speech to the House of Commons, Churchill paraphrased Santayana when he said 'Those who fail to learn from history are condemned to repeat it. '

“Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.”–George Santayana, The Life of Reason, 1905.

We should pay attention to current events!

Looking at this current College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario web page, "Medical Assistance in Dying – Preliminary Consultation (http://policyconsult.cpso.on.ca/?page_id=13129)" distresses me, when I read it with the events of the 1930s and 1940s still fresh in my mind.

The  REMI Platinum Award-winning 56.07 min documentary film can be found on this page "Caring Corrupted: the Killing Nurses of the Third Reich (https://germanstudiescollaboratory.com/caring-corrupted-the-killing-nurses-of-the-third-reich/)" shows how medical professionals can be desensitised to killing!

Can't we learn from history?

Do we have to repeat the most vile?

Cultural problem?
